THE NIGHT CAPS
The band’s show presents classic country music, from roadside jukejoints playing ballads and foot-stompers, to two-stepping Texas dancehall tunes, as well as western swing from the time when country music was influenced by the uptown sound of the big band era.
You will hear music from the songbooks of Hank Williams, Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys, Kitty Wells, Ernest Tubb and whole lot more. From waltzes to fast & slow two-step rhythms, you will find “The Night Caps” will keep you on the dance floor as long as the night continues.

The fabulous Dan Kane Singers will be performing an uplifting inspirational Concert at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA to benefit 21 families who lost their homes in a devastating apartment fire at the Powdermill Village Apartments in Westfield this past April 22nd. The 53 affected residents are still struggling, trying to rebuild their lives, and the group hopes to help them with this special event. The Dan Kane Singers will be joined by the very talented Freddie Marion, Traci Mnich, 12yr. old Shea Braceland and 2018 AMERICAN IDOL contestant Lauren Beluzo, who will perform a line up of uplifting and inspirational music that everyone will enjoy. The concert is Free but donations will be collected and 100% of the proceeds received will go to the families displaced by the fire.

On April 22, 2018, 21 families/53 people lost their homes in a devastating apartment fire in Westfield. They are still struggling to rebuild their lives. Please come and enjoy a night of beautiful Inspirational Music given by 12 year old Shea Braceland and the premier local singing group The Dan Kane Singers which will help these beautiful families. Donations will be collected with 100% of proceeds to go to the families.

The Maestro’s Men are a versatile Polka Band formed in 1996. The leader and clarinetist Dennis Polisky was inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame in 2007. In addition to performing Polka melodies, they are also known to perform lively swing, big band and traditional standards. Combined, the band’s members share many years of performing experience. Leader Dennis Polisky has performed in Las Vegas, Lincoln Center in New York City, BIG E Eastern States Exposition, Springfield Symphony Hall, Mohegan Sun Casino and many large venues across the states.

TASTE OF HONEY
The “Taste of Honey”, an 8 piece Tijuana Brass tribute band recreates the instrumental sounds of the original Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. The band is led by Mike Tourville. Mike plays the trumpet and is joined in the brass section by Paul Brozek (trumpet) and Dave Bussell (trombone). Mark Roy is featured on acoustic and electric guitar and Marc Graveline is featured on the bass guitar. Danny Roy sets the beat on the drums and is joined by percussionists Brian Jyryngi and John Cieplik. Neal Schermerhorn is featured on keyboard and can be heard playing piano, organ, and marimba parts.

Held in the Art Block on Elm Street in downtown Westfield along the east side of the Gaslight District on the third Friday of each month from 5-7pm, local and regional artists will display their work in the host merchants of Blended Vintage Marketplace, Mama Cakes, Two Rivers Burrito and Rosewood Home & Gifts.
Live art demonstrations will take place outside on the sidewalk along Elm Street. A busker or two is always a possibility!

Downtown Westfield comes alive on Saturday June 23rd with Buskers Day Westfield!
Busker you ask??? Street performance or busking is the act of performing in public places for gratuities. In many countries the rewards are generally in the form of money but other gratuities such as food, drink or gifts may be given.
Street performers of all stripes will grace the Elm Street sidewalks between the Westfield Athenaeum to the Blended Vintage Marketplace on the west side; on the east side between the Rinnova Building to the new It Takes Two Bakery location and … around the corner on Main Street between Blue Umbrella Books and Janik's Pierogi Café.

The WFD will be hosting an Open House at the Little River No. 2 Fire Station. This is an opportunity for the Community to come in to see the renovations of the station and also showcase some of our equipment. The SAFE Trailer will be on site for children to learn about fire safety: there will be a demonstration with the Jaws of Life: there will be a side by side burn to demonstrate the need for detectors and how sprinklers can save lives. Other equipment and apparatus will be on display. More info will become available next week with the actual schedule of events. All Public is Welcome.

“Eight to the Bar’s” material is a colorful mix of forties jazz and swing, fifties jump blues and their own swing-influenced tunes. This unique sextet packs a musical and visual wallop not seen in New England since the group’s inception in 1975. “Eight to the Bar” has released 12 CDs and have toured Europe and recently had the honor of playing in the Republic of Georgia where they were invited to perform by the U.S. Embassy there. The Hartford Magazine named them “Best Band 2015”.
