[ARCHIVED] Free Property Management Seminar

Landlord Group

Started by the Westfield Police Department, this organization has been active for over 15 years and was created to educate landlords and property managers on issues pertinent to owning, renting and managing residential properties.  Whether you own one property or many, have been doing this for years or are just purchasing your first property, this group offers free education and information to help protect you and get the best possible tenants for your investment.

September 2022 was our first landlord and property management seminar post Covid and we had an outstanding presentation by Clerk Magistrate Michael J. Doherty from the Western Division Housing Court.  Mr. Doherty spoke many times of Way Finders (formerly HAP Housing) and how they can be an outstanding resource for landlords.  This leads us to our next meeting on November 29, 2022, 6:00 pm, at Shaker Farms Country Club, 866 Shaker Road, Westfield.

Along with members of the Westfield Police Department on hand to go over recent trends in law enforcement, crime issues, and to answer questions, we will have two key note speakers from Way Finders!  From Way Finders we will welcome John Fisher, The Fair Housing Coordinator, and Araceli Rivera, Home Ownership and financial Education Manager as our key note speakers.  John Fisher literally wrote the book on Property Management in Massachusetts.  "Property Management Manual For Massachusetts Rental Owners" was written by John and is available on Amazon for those interested.  John has been a speaker in the past and always brings new insight and invaluable information to the group.  Araceli Rivera will be able to educate on different programs for first time rental owners as well as on programs available to those having difficulty collecting rent or making mortgage payments.  Having a small private audience with these two representatives from Way Finders is a rare opportunity for any property manager.

From 6:00 to 7:00 pm is a social hour and optional RSVP dinner for $25, and at 7:00 pm, the informational portion of the program will begin.  Again, this seminar is FREE, unless you would like to purchase dinner for $25.00.  If you would like to RSVP to purchase dinner please click this link for the RSVP form, or e-mail Lt. Eric Hall at e.hall@cityofwestfield.org.  Although an RSVP is not required to attend, it is helpful for planning purposes.  If you have questions or for more information about this meeting, again, please contact Lt. Eric Hall at e.hall@cityofwestfield.org or (413) 642-9383.
