[ARCHIVED] Door to Door Water Scam

PD-news-alert2

The City of Westfield has received complaints of a person going door to door stating that Westfield water is contaminated and that it should not be consumed; and they were trying to sell bottled water.  Please know that this person is not affiliated with the City of Westfield.

The City would like to re-state that all consumers of city water may safely use the water as normal.

An employee with the City of Westfield Water Department will be dressed in blue uniform, with a city logo, driving a City of Westfield Water Department truck and will be carrying the appropriate credentials.

If you are approached by someone claiming to be with the City Water Department, and you suspect they are not, please contact the Westfield Police Department.  The Police are aware of this situation and are monitoring it closely.
